We were haulin' around the south side of downtown,
Lookin' for a place to land.
Spotted this place and with a smile on our face,
It was time to feed the food gland.
It came out of the blue and it may be true,
That pigs can't fly or see.
But we had to know as our hunger growed,
Could that possibly be?
Ordered dirty wings and some tater skins,
To compliment our fine wine.
The girl had cab house, and I was no slouch,
For me, Malbec Guggenheim.
But then the big deal, a circular main meal,
We ordered the KC my friends!
Adorned with horseradish, thinking we are baddish
As we chomped down on burnt ends.
Holy smokes we exclaimed! The pie was to blame!
Elegance for our tastebuds!
But we were not through, between me and you,
Next we're the cinnamon doughnuts!
Waddling our way out, and without a doubt
Stretching the sides of our shirts
We'd had enough of this powerful stuff,
Including that six dollar dessert!
Holy smokes I hope I don't go blind, but let's face it, you don't need to see this food, just smell and taste it! These guys rocked our faces off! -

Here in Hartford for a conference. Across the street from the hotel and convention we found the Blind Pig. Nicely BBQ themed restaurant, with an upstairs and downstairs seating section inside and and outside patio section. As it was a very pleasant evening, we chose the outside.
The pizza menu is has several sections: Specialty White, Red, & Classic and of course, allows customization. Being that the Blind Pig is part of the Bears BBQ chain, we had to at least try one with the BBQ sauce. So we ordered the Rodeo Hog and, as vegetarians, substituted roasted red peppers for the Bear's pulled pork. We also ordered the Shroom asa White to compliment.
The pizzas arrived, and were placed upon large tomato sauce cans. Nice touch. The crust on both were perfectly done: light, yet crispy, with some areas of charring. The sauce on the Rodeo Hog was delicious. Sort of slightly Italian, yet some sweetness and smoky. The Shroom pizza had a smooth subtle taste from the fontina cheese, with just the right amount of garlic cloves and loaded with mushrooms.
Service was great, and our waitress was very friendly and accommodating.
If you love pizza, and are going to be in Hartford, don't miss the Blind Pig! -

While in Hartford for a conference, we decided
to check our this place because of the Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed. I had the wedge salad. It was very flavorful (although I didn't need the fried onions). We ordered the Marg and the pesto pizzas. Salad and two pizzas was the perfect amount of food for the three of us. We really enjoyed our meal. The pizza had a great, thin crust and the toppings seemed fresh. The only thing I didn't like was the waitress was a bit gruff and she had a credit card machine where she ran the cards at our table and it was a little awkward. Overall, the food was great and I'd definitely come here again if I was ever back in Hartford looking for pizza. -

I like everything about this place! Their menu is interesting and creative. The atmosphere is funky and inviting. Our server was attentive an knowledgeable. I just wish it was closer to the Farmington Valley! I will jump at the chance to go to the Blind Pig every time I'm in Hartford.
